Leela and Bholaram long for their own child but are unable to conceive. Leela who is a midwife helps wealthy Sunderdas’ wife to deliver twin boys but keeps one child and tells them that she delivered only one. Meanwhile his wife dies of complications and he brings up Kishen by himself while Leela and Bhola raise Kanhaiya. Sunderdas then remarries a cruel woman named kamini who brings along her brother Gendamal and son Mahesh. When Sunderdas is paralyzed after an accident he is brought up by Kamini with abuse. He is kept illiterate. Kanhaiya on the other hand becomes confident and street smart.
Soon Kamini with her brother and son plan on making Kishen put his thumb print on the property paperwork and throw him off the cliff. Kanhaiya comes just in time to save his brother and fight off his evil step mother. The film is directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. The star cast includes Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Amrish Puri and Shilpa Shirodkar.
