Radha(Bharthi) is Amar’s(Vinod Mehra) deserted wife who abandons their son (Macky Ali) near a temple, fortunately the child is rescued by a poor rickshawala Mahesh(Mehmood).  The child develops Polio and he takes him to the doctor  (Sanjeev Kumar) who is not able to help the child. Mahesh loves the child like his own and decides to bring him up as his son.   However the parents of the child, Amar and Bharti reconcile and start looking for their child and take the help of the police inspector (Vinod Khanna) and file a case for their missing child.    Mahesh does not want to let go off him but the parents and police convince him that they are wealthy and can get him the best medical treatment and that he has to let the child go.  With a heavy heart he lets the child leave with the parents for his betterment.     After a while the boy returns with his parents to meet the rickshawala Mahesh but they see him die. Mehmood has made this film as a story but the child of the polio is true and has affected his third son.
