A young man Lateef, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui is hard working and honest. He aspires to be a doctor someday to help people in pain. On a fateful day he gets caught in a drug smuggling racket unknowingly and unfortunately gets jailed for it. His screams of innocence and pleading go unheard.
Meanwhile ACP Sawant, played by Mukesh Tiwari is at war with the drug lords to curb it’s smuggling but it’s a tough and dangerous battle for him. Lateef returns from jail after seven long years and sees a bleak future in front of him. The demons of his past come to haunt him every minute. His dreams of becoming a doctor are crushed mercilessly. To make matters worse, his mother succumbs to her illness and dies. Miserable and hopeless, Lateef too starts using drugs to make him numb from his tragic pain.
Lateef is directed by Israr Ahmed and produced by Amina Ahmed. The music of the movie is composed by various artists.
