Maa is one of the recently released movies of the horror-drama genre. This new film’s story is set against the backdrop of a small village located in West Bengal. The film’s plot starts with Shuvankar and Ambika, who both live a happy life in the city with their beloved daughter, Shweta, who is highly insisting on them visiting their ancestral village during their holidays, but Shuvankar doesn’t agree on that, and then Shuvankar and Ambika both privately discuss this and arrive at the conclusion that sooner or later, their daughter, Shweta, must know the truth of why they have not taken her there ever.
Later that night, when Shuvankar comes to know that his father has passed away, he immediately leaves the house in the middle of the night, and after his father’s last rites are done successfully, he requests his friend Joydev to find a broker in order to sell off their massive and luxurious mansion, as he doesn’t like the vibe there. While returning back to the city, he encounters some evil spirits residing in his car, and then he gets burned alive, which causes him to be dead on the spot right inside the car.
Later, three months after Shuvankar’s death, Joydev requests Ambika to visit the hometown in order to meet the broker, and Shweta insists to them that she can also come along with them. Further, as they go on to enter the village, Ambika sees an illusion of her husband, and thereby she almost loses control over the car. Shweta warns her by screaming loudly, and their servant couple’s daughter, Deepika, somehow escapes from the car but still gets hurt.
Then, Ambika and Deepika both become good friends of each other, but Deepika’s mother isn’t quite happy with their friendship, as she would rather have him leave Ambika and Shweta. However, her husband, Bikash, calms her. What will happen further? Will Ambika be able to unravel the mystery behind the death of Shuvankar? How will the mother and daughter confront these mysteries? This is one of the recent movie releases that has entertained the audiences with its drama, thrill, and suspense, along with the secrets and mysteries that unravel throughout the film.
