Raju is an honest and hardworking man living in the scenic beauty of Mauritius. He meets the wealthy and beautiful Preeti and soon both fall in love. When Preeti’s family finds out about her love affair with an ordinary boatman, they are furious and feel this will degrade their name in society and put them to shame. So they hold Preeti captive in the house and get Raju arrested on false charges. Raju is devastated and breaks out of jail only to be told that Preeti has committed suicide. He then sent back to jail.
Preeti’s family is however lying to Raju and want to get her married to someone of their own status and wealth. Soon barrister Sinha who is a kind and generous man helps get Raju out on bail. Raju is now seeking revenge for his lover and wants to find out the truth. The film is directed by Saawan Kumar and produced by Anil Agarwal. The music is composed by Usha Khanna. The star cast includes Rajeev Kapoor, Padmini Kolhapure, Asha Parekh, Prem Chopra, Roopesh Kumar, Vinod Mehra and Shashikala.
