Laxmi is a old widow who lives with her three sons Vijay, Ajay and Sanjay and daughter Meena. She works hard to give her children a secure future. Vijay, the responsible and compassionate out of the four children secretly works as a laborer so he can financially help his mother and brothers to study. Laxmi meanwhile has collected a chitfund for her daughter’s marriage and goes to the concerned person Gopal to collect it. She is shocked to learn that he has duped her. Vijay is furious to hear this and a fight ensues between them and Gopal is killed. Meena’s wedding takes place in a lavish way with the chitfund money.

 

Later the cops come and arrest Vijay and he is sentenced to seven years in prison for Gopal’s murder. After being released, Vijay comes to his house to find that his house has been sold and his brothers who is a lawyer and collector respectively reject him. Vijay is helpless and has to unfortunately drive an auto-rickshaw. He then meets his mother who is in a terrible state working as a laborer. The film is directed by K Bapaiah and produced by Shabnam Kapoor. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The screenplay is by Gyandev Agnihotri and the choreography is by Kamal Kumar. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Raj Kiran, Sachin, Madhavi, Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Raza Murad, Asrani, Bharat Kapoor, Guddu, Bharat Bhushan, Yunus Perwaiz, Rajendranath, Aruna Irani, Shraddha Verma and Prema Narayan.
