Synopsis

Raabta means Connection. It is an epic, romantic, adventure film directed and produced by Dinesh Vijan, co-produced by Homi Adjania and Bhushan Kumar. The leading cast is Sushant Singh Rajput , Kriti Sanon, Jim Sarbh with supporting roles by Varun Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Rajkumar Rao and Deepika Padukone (in a special role). The story goes with Shiv Kakkar( Sushant Singh Rajput) , a young man from Amritsar with a job in Budapest as a Banker , a fun loving womanizer who lives with his friend Radha( Varun Sharma). Shiv Kakkar meets a young girl Saira Singh ( Kriti Sanon) and both fall in love. While Shiv is a flirt with many women, Saira finds herself being is haunted by nightmares of drowning and finds her strongly attracted to a young businessman by the name of Zakir or “Zack”. During one of the dinners, when Shiv is not around, she gets kidnapped by Zakir to an isolated mansion off-shore. Demanding to be released she tries to escape and falls into the sea and that’s when she comes to realise her nightmares connected with water. A story of a woman who comes across her lover reincarnated from their previous birth. The film however ends with a happy ending after a few struggles and fights. The film was delayed due to casting issues with the stars and was released on the 9th June 2017. Music by Pritam. Lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Irshad Kamil, Kumaar, Jamb, Sourav Roy and Sohrabuddin. The collection at the Box Office was rupees 15.93 crores nationwide. Most of the film was shot at Hungary, Budapest, India.
