Film debut and rise to prominence ( 2014-2015) Kriti Sanon received her first film offer from the Telugu film industry through Sukumar’s directorial psychological thriller flick 1: Nenokkadine which had her pairing opposite Mahesh Babu in the lead. The movie narrates the story of a schizophrenic rock musician who hallucinates three people who he thinks killed his parents at a young age and the subsequent entry of a nosy female journalist to the picture who helps him crack his illness and the mystery behind his parent’s death. Sanon brought much believability and conviction to the table amidst the surreal like unwinding of events and was seen getting to the mix of things in a jiffy. Although the movie garnered only moderate reviews, she went on to fetch much fame with her impressive debut though a portion panned her for being too blank at places. Kriti later the same year in 2014 was called upon to make her Hindi film debut with Sabbir Khan’s action drama flick Heropanti along with Tiger Shroff in the lead. Although the super hit movie rose to strictly mixed reviews, Sanon was widely applauded for her confident debut and many critics cited her to be possessing the trapping of a future star with the movie. Subsequent films ( 2015) Kriti however shortly returned to Telugu cinema with the Naga Chaitanya starrer action thriller flick Dochay. The movie had nothing spectacular for her in store and she was pretty much limited to the usual clichéd heroine parts in action-oriented mass entertainer productions where her main job is to just look good on screen and play second fiddle to the lead hero. Kriti had a huge turnaround in the latter part of 2015 when she was picked to play the love interest of Varun Dhawan in Shahrukh Khan starrer romantic action flick Dilwale which also had Kajol playing the central female lead with SRK. The Rohit Shetty directorial which had polarizing responses was a huge revelation for Sanon as she gained just the right amount of exposure with the grandeur of the project. The blockbuster hit movie made her an overnight star of Hindi cinema although she practically just had to be a hero-centric entertainer by being the ever-so-gorgeous and charming lady along with Kajol. Her portions with Shahrukh Khan and Varun Dhawan all proved to be a huge ignition point for her career prospects in Bollywood which is to come shortly. Upcoming films ( 2017) Kriti Sanon’s next project is the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer flick Raabta helmed by Dinesh Vijayan. She will also be seen sharing screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkumar Rao in the romantic comedy film Bareilly Ki Barfi. The movie is slated to be about a love triangle blossoming between a printing press owner, his employee and a contemporary girl in Uttar Pradesh.
