"Rangoli" (2023) is a family drama directed by Vaali Mohan Das, in his directorial venture. The movie has been produced by K. Babu Reddy and G. Satish Kumar of Gopuram Studios. It features Hamaresh playing Sathya, Aadukalam Murugadoss as Gandhi, and Prarthana in a leading role as Parvathy. The movie presents the emotional strength of education, class disparities, and teenage love in an interesting school background.

"Sathya" is a bright student who comes from a poor family. His father "Gandhi", who is a hard-working laundryman, wishes to give a better life to his son through good education. Despite Sathya being the topper in his class at the local government school and leading a happy life among friends, his father shifts him to an exclusive private school in the hope of it paving the way for a brighter future. But the new environment seems chilly and foreign.

Sathya is mocked at the private school for his poor command of English and lowly origin. "Gautham", one of the rich boys, and his friends often mock him and call him a "local" for every mistake he commits. Finding it difficult to cope, Sathya begins to lose confidence and academic performance suffers. His sole comfort is his Tamil teacher, who encourages him when others do not.

Sathya also falls in love with his sweet and gentle-souled classmate Parvathy, slowly realizing and falling for her. But academic pressures, bullying, and emotional stresses propel Sathya to a life-altering choice. The tale eloquently captures the inner conflict within him and between him and Parvathy, growing.

"Rangoli" is an emotional drama that brings to the fore the social divide between government and private schools, and how parental imposed dreams can boomerang. The movie connects with students and families. With solid emotional highs and realistic storytelling, it is a thought-provoking education, self-esteem, and teen love story.
