Faisal Malik, known for playing Prahlad Cha in the popular series Panchayat, recently opened up about how actor payments are decided and processed for the show.

As discussions around the relatively modest salaries of the cast gain traction online, Faisal offered some much-needed clarity in a recent interview.

Faisal Malik Explains How Panchayat Actors Are Paid

Speaking on The Roanoke Podcast, Faisal said that the conversation about payment begins only after the actor agrees to take on the role. Though he didn't disclose his exact fee, he stated, Whatever I got was fine. Now we have to see what happens next. Faisal Malik emphasized that payments vary depending on how the producers structure them some go per day, others by season.

He further explained that most payments are made in six phases: one part is given at the time of signing, the second when shooting begins, the third midway through, the fourth at completion, the fifth after dubbing, and the sixth post-release. This process, he noted, typically stretches over a year.

Addressing whether an actor’s fee increases after each season, Faisal clarified that such increments must be written into the contract beforehand. The fee doesn’t increase automatically just because the show becomes a hit, he said. All about the most discussed show, Panchayat.
