Alia Bhatt to feature in a brief but a pivotal role in the sequel Tumbbad 2 is gearing up for her special appearance in the much-awaited folk horror film. 


Besides Alia Bhatt, the sequel stars Sohum Shah, Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Directed by Adesh Prasad, Alia Bhatt’s screen time is limited but the character she essays is to be a crucial part of the film to drive the narrative forward and will add the interesting aspect to the storyline. 


Tumbbad 2 – Dives deeper into the dark mythology of Hastar.


Tumbbad 2 will dive deeper into the dark mythology of Hastar. It is a story of a cursed deity that was introduced in the original Tumbbad. The sequel will further explore the consequences of the disturbing forbidden forces. 


The film that went on floors on April 7th 2026 is an ambitious project already underway on a massive set built across several acres of land in Mumbai to recreate and entire set up. 


Alia Bhatt’s scenes are filmed at their Madh Island sets with two days shoot schedule.  The actress will appear at the Meet Gala 2026.  The makers may have to use a body double for some of the selected scenes to manage her timelines. 


The sequel Tumbbad 2 is backed by Sohum Shah Films in collaboration with Pen Studios and is led by Jayantilal Gada. The movie promises to be on a grand cinematic scale. However, an official statement regarding Alia Bhatt’s Cameo is still awaited.   The sequel is slated for its release in the theatres on December 3rd, 2027.
