A few months back Arijit Singh had announced his retirement from playback singing. The singer had reached out to his fans with an emotional personal note stating that he is stepping away to retire and hence he is not accepting any new playback singing assignments. The singer had assured the listeners that his voice isn’t going to be silent just as yet as he has several unfinished tracks that are still lined up for releases in the coming months.
The message from Arijit Singh, addressed to his fans, says, ‘This message is just for my listeners. Hello Beautiful People. He stared off by saying, ‘I love You. Thank you so much for your kindness in this ruthless world’. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to them.
He also clarified his statement about his retirement. He said he has stopped signing new projects but many of his song tracks are incomplete and he is in the process of completing those. They are many of his unfinished projects that will be released until they all are done. He further stated these unfinished song tracks will take the entire of this year as well may be spill over to next year.
Arijit Singh ended his note with a spiritual message encouraging his followers to stay peaceful meditate, read, and spread love.
After Arijit Singh had announced his decision earlier this year that he will step back and no longer accept any playback singing assignments, Aamir Khan with disbelief and disappointed personally travelled to Murshidabad to meet the singer to convince him not to quit.
Aamir Khan in a candid conversation with the singer urged him to reconsider, reflecting the industry’s admiration for him, he said, ‘ Aise mat Kar Yaar, hum logon ka kya Hoga bhai? (Don’t do this friend, what will happen to people like us?) While Aamir Khan also met Arijit Singh’s family and their close bonding with him flying kites with them or having meals together, it was evident in the videos that had been shared on the internet.
Arijit Singh admitted it has been a wonderful journey that he is happy about his announcement. Thanking his fans and the film industry for all the love and support he got from them, he said he is calling it a day and through the new projects that are still unfinished, Arijit Singh’s legacy will continue for a while with these melodies that promised to echo for months to more than year ahead.
