Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s return to a full-fledged action role blend with the elements of survival horror, military realism and the alien invasion storytelling. According to the makers, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for his most prestigious and ambitious projects with the film Samuk.  


Samuk is a high-octane alien action thriller that promises to push the Indian cinema into an unchartered territory. Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Sanak, filmmaker Kanishk Varma, Samuk is being developed as a large-scale sci-fi spectacle for survival. It features the world class action with terrifying creatures who are extraterrestrial.

The upcoming film Samuk aims to introduce a genre that is rarely explored in the Indian cinema.  According to the makers Akshay Kumar is returning to a full-fledged action film that blends elements of survival with alien invasion that brings military realism to the storytelling. Samuk is on par with international productions.

Produced by Vipul Shah reveals that the team wanted to challenge themselves with a completely new genre. Indian cinema has never attempted something like Samuk in the past and the goal is to recreate a world class alien thriller that proudly enjoys on the big screen. 


Directed by Kanishk Varma, the concept was inspired by his fascinating with elite security forces like the Alien and Predator, the iconic survival thrillers. The director instead of relying entirely on the CGI, the makers opted for practical creatures to give the effect of the monster and get a more realistic and terrifying look. The tangible horror is what makes the classic films unforgettable. 


Alec Gillis is known for his work on the Alien, Predator, Starship Troopers and It. The Tremor franchise added the major international credibility to the project which is legendary. Varma describes it as handcrafted monster and will be the first time the audience are going to face it in person.


The action sequences are choreographed by British Stunt coordinator like Luke Tumber who has impressed with Mission: Impossible, Star Wars, No Time to Die and Venom. 


Super star Akshay Kumar has bene praised for his charismatic look and his physicality makes him the perfect choice for this extraterrestrial to face the threat. 


Akshay Kumar has confirmed his involvement and said he was instantly drawn to the script because of the alien thriller which is featured in the script as an alien thriller genre that is completely new for him as well as the Indian cinema. 


Samuk is planned for its release across Pan Indian theatrical releases targeting its 2027 debut as it will be Bollywood’ most ambitious sci-fi adventure film, co-produced by Aashin A Shah.
