Bollywood filmmaker Farah Khan last directed the Shah rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Happy New Year in 2014. Post that she has not helmed any other projects. The choreographer turned director has been now approached to direct the late legendary Bollywood actor Rajesh Khanna’s biopic. To that she said, “I haven't said a 'yes' to that opportunity yet.”

Farah Khan wants to take her time and not make a hasty comeback into direction. To this she said, “To be honest, I am itching to come back to the direction. I will only be able to announce something by the end of the year. I want to make my kind of cinema.” Speaking of the new Pan-India movement that has been gripping the world of cinema she said, “Main Hoon Na was also a pan India film. It worked in multiple centres across the country. I don't understand the pan-India distinction, because I feel every film that turns out to be a country-wide hit is a pan-India film.”
