Documenting the bravery of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, who was a veteran of the 45th Cavalry tank squadron, the upcoming Bollywood film Pippa will give us an account of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Mehta, together with his siblings, fought on the eastern front during the war that led to the liberation of India's neighboring country Bangladesh. A story of courage, resilience and valour, Pippa stars Ishaan Khatter as Brigadier Mehta and Priyanshu Painyuli as his sibling. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Soni Razdan

 

Announcing the film’s release date trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “ISHAAN KHATTER - MRUNAL THAKUR: 'PIPPA' ON 9 DEC 2022... #Pippa - the 1971 war film starring #IshaanKhatter, #MrunalThakur, #PriyanshuPainyuli and #SoniRazdan - to release in cinemas on 9 Dec 2022... Currently filming across #Amritsar, #WestBengal, #Ahmednagar and #Mumbai.” Pippa is based on the book ‘The Burning Chaffees’ by Brigadier Mehta. It is directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur

The team is excited to hit the floors today and we hope to bring our audiences a very special cinematic experience in theatres next year.” The film’s music is by A R Rahman and will hit the big screens on 9th December 2022.
