Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui blamed Bollywood for the decline in audience watching films in theatres. This has largely impacted the industry’s box office struggles.
He said there are two kind of actors, Industry actors and the public actors. Industry actors are not the most sought-after actors but the viewers end up watching their films as these films are showcased on OTT platforms in the comforts of their homes. While people are generally keen to watch public actors on the big screen but unfortunately these films don’t reach the masses. Not everyone like earlier rush to the theatres .
Nawazuddin Siddiqui Questions Bollywood’s Star-Driven Economics
Nawazuddin made a mention of making films at 20 to 30 crores with actors like late Irrfan Khan or Manoj Bajpayee and Om Puri, and Naseeruddin despite the fact that these actors are very talented and are great actors. There are several fans who are waiting to see these stars on the big screen more often.

When there is no guarantee at the box office, why are the filmmakers doing a 100-crore picture with only big stars and the film flops? Instead, why don’t they make films with the same budget on other actors too, who are capable, talented and shine on the big screen? Why is there a difference? Filmmakers are not ready to invest in high-budget films with these actors. There were recent comments by Seema Pahwa wanting to leave the film industry because there are not many opportunities in the lead roles.

The Bollywood culture has to change, says Nawazuddin Siddiqui with the dynamics driven in the industry, there is definitely something that’s not right in Bollywood, and one needs to take an insight if a good actress like Seema Pahwa is saying this.
