Renowned lyricist, screenwriter, and Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Chief Prasoon Joshi has been conferred with the prestigious National Kishore Kumar Award. The recognition, instituted by the Madhya Pradesh government, honours individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Indian cinema.

The award, named after the multifaceted icon Kishore Kumar, is presented annually on his birth anniversary to celebrate excellence in film and music. Previous recipients include stalwarts like Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Prasoon Joshi, known for his impactful lyrics in films such as Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Delhi-6, continues to shape Indian cinema through his writing and cultural vision.
