After the release and the promotions of Border 2, Sunny Deol is once again gearing up to kick off his next high voltage action thriller film with Balaji in the first week of February 2026.  The project which is behind its schedule by two months was largely due to the busy scheduled of the actor’s packed schedule before the release of Border 2.

The untitled film will mark Sunny Deol’s first collaboration with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.    The film that was initially slated to go on floors in December 2025 was pushed to shoot to February as Sunny Deol could not commit as he had Border 2 promotional responsibilities that had to be wrapped up.  The upcoming is slated to go on floors from February 10th 2026.

The makers had suggested and chosen to reschedule and begin the shoot with the actor’s complete focus and his preparations and not rush into the project which was a mutual decision. 

About the yet untitled project. 

The work on the new project is already underway and the film is reportedly locked by Balaji. A detailed shooting plan is being worked out with the first schedule set will be filmed in Andheri in Mumbai.  The principal photography is expected to continue through the summers and the wrap up is by mid--2026.

The makers have scheduled the large scale action packed thriller with intense areas that will further strengthen the strong hold in the genre for Sunny Deol. The film has positioned itself as a high octane thriller  while the makers are keeping the plot details and the cast under wraps but the film sets an important new creative association between Deol and Excel Entertainment in their ambitious project lined up. 

2026 has proved be a particularly busy year for the super star Sunny Deol , starting with Border 2, Lahore 1947 , the mythological epic Ramayana Part 1 and now the upcoming unnamed project by Balaji also in the horizon .
