On Friday the Court lifted the stay on the release of the much controversial film, The Kerala Story 2. The producer of the film, Vipul Amrutlal Shah said the verdict of the Court stands correct. The film is about forced religious conversions and there has been a Petition filed in the HC to stop its release claiming that whatever was depicted in the film was shown in a bad light that could create communal disharmony.

On Thursday a single  judge bench had brought a stay on the film’s release. However, The Kerala story 2 was all set for its release on Friday.  A division bench of justices stayed the single judge’s order for which the film’s screening on Friday was put on hold for 15 days.

After the verdict was passed, Vipul Shah addressed a Press Conference , reiterated that the film is not against the Kerala State. He clarified at the Press Conference that his crew nor any one from his banner is against Kerala. Its God’s Own Country and it’s a beautiful state and if something wrong is happening over there, he is just bringing it to light through his film.  He assured once the audience watch the film, they will realize it’s not a negative allegation against the state nor of the people of Kerala.

He further stated that there’s a lobby actively targeting them and they have argued and brought in a wrong approach even during the first part of the film .

He said he has the support of people who are speaking in favour of the film but more than 80% of the opposition is from Kerala claimed the Filmmaker.
