Dino Morea is one of the most successful male models in the history of Indian Fashion Industry. He had a pretty long stint in cinema after being a supermodel , and also got to work with Stalwarts like Mahesh Bhatt on several occasions which itself is a rare feat for an actor of his stature.

Dino Morea was born to a Italian father and Indian mother in Bangalore with two brothers. He completed his schooling from Bangalore Military School and Clarence High School after which completed his graduation from St. Joseph College in Bangalore. Owing to his exceptional good looks Morea then went on to pursue modelling with a reputed modelling firm, which led to his entry into television series Captain Vyom which eventually led to his entry in to cinema in the year 1999.

Morea was in a relationship with actress Bipasha Basu who has worked together in movies like Raaz and Gunaah in the past, but the two brought the relationship to an end in a couple of years. Dino Morea is now reported to be in a relationship with Fashion Designer Nandita Mahtani .

Short Stint in Television before entry into cinema ( 1998) Dino Morea had in a short time established himself as one of the supermodels in the Indian fashion industry which paved for him being recognized in the television sector when he was cast in major supporting character in the popular Live-action superhero science fiction serial which starred Milind Soman in the title role. He was seen in a role on the small screen series which was aired in channel DD National in the year 1998 saw Morea appearing as “SONIC” who was a major character of the show; the character got noticed big time. The fantasy show which ran for 54 episodes with one single season worked wonders for Dino Morea as he was also noticed by the film makers and his journey in the Bollywood began with him receiving offers. Film Debut in Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi ( early 1999) Raj Kaushal was the first filmmaker to spot Dino Morea, when he cast him in the lead in the Romcom Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi , opposite Rinke Khanna and Sanjay Suri, the movie placed in the backdrop of a performing arts college which narrated the story of the blooming of relationship between the students, The movie received mixed reviews but the songs were chartbusters of the time. Morea got a good opening in the year 1999. Rise to prominence ( late 1999- 2003) Dino Morea however took a detour in the latter part of 1999 when he was cast in a cameo appearance in Rajiv Menon’s ensemble romantic drama Kandukondain Kandukondain, with Mamootty, Ajith, Aishwarya Rai and Tabu playing other prominent roles. Although Morea’s screen time in the movie hardly crossed five minutes where he was seen playing a guy who comes in a crucial plot point when realization dawns on the lead characters of Aishwarya Rai and Mammotty of their love for each other. His presence in the movie turned out to be a major breakthrough for other offers in the near future. Although he had a small gap in between which ended three years later with Vikram Bhatt’s horror thriller Raaz which saw him as the independent male lead for the very first time, where he paired opposite Bipasha Basu. The movie saw the duo playing a couple who had just moved to Ooty to fix their struggling relationship, only to land up in a haunted house which leads further too much turn of events. Raaz was the highest grosser of the year 2002 and also garnered rave reviews; incidentally the movie was the first instalment of the popular Raaz film series. In the same year Dino Morea was cast in the thriller Gunaah, where he was paired opposite Bipasha Basu yet again, incidentally made his name popular in the film industry. The year 2003 saw Dino coming up with lead performances in mostly thriller movies like Baaz: A Bird in Danger, Sssshhh…all of which saw kept the boxes ticking for him. The average grosser Ishq Hai Tumse where he paired with Bipasha Basu was his only departure from the thriller genre for the year which he followed with the thriller Plan which was a phenomenal success and was one of his careers highest grossers along with an ensemble cast, all of which were upward leaps for Morea in the short career. Mediocre outings ( 2004- 2006) Morea had a uneventful run in the year 2004 where appeared in sleeper hits like Insaaf: The Justice and Rakht, the supernatural thriller was declared a hit with mixed reviews. His next release was the average thrillers like Chehraa, Holiday and Fight club- Members Only , but his romantic thriller Aksar where he paired with Emraan Hashmi and Udita Goswami went on to break collection records and was an academic hit too; the famous song number “Jhalak Dikhlaja “ is also from this movie, which was his sole hit of the period. Aap Ki Khatir , Tom Dick and Harry and his first Kannada outing Julie too bombed miserably. Back to back miserable outings ( 2007- 2014) The year 2007 continued his bad run with washout movies like Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie, Dus Kahaniyaan, Bhram and Anamika, all of which turned out to be just average box office performers and did his career prospects no good at that point. Heroes finally broke the poor run for Morea, in the year and fetched him positive responses. Shortly after Acid Factory which saw him teaming up with an ensemble cast of Fardeen Khan, Irrfan Khan and Manoj Bajpayee garnered exemplary critical reception. After a supporting role in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna starring Salman Khan in the lead. Uday Chopra’s Pyaar Impossible saw him a supporting role with negative shades. Dino Morea was last seen playing himself in ShahRukh Khan’s big budget heist comedy Happy New Year, in a special cameo.
