Sharad Singh is actor for his versatile performances across Hindi films, theatres, television and web series. He rose from the ranks of intense theatre Rangmanch and carved a niche for himself in the Bollywood traditional film industry. He showcased a steady transition from independent parallel cinema to mainstream commercial projects.

In the late 1990’s and 2010’s, he played realistic character roles often portraying as tough men, like police officers or authoritative figures in the films. His early filmography included smaller roles where he appeared in gritty dramas such as Pratha in 1996 alongside Irrfan Khan, or in Lakhan in 1997 with Raja Bundela, Kajri and Aakhir Kab Tak released in 2010. The later film had earned him his Best Actor recognition at the Madhya Pradesh Film Festival. He has the talent to blend seamlessly into the realistic narratives led to collaborations with acclaimed filmmaker Prakash Jha. He secured roles in Jha’s major socio-political dramas.

Singh has played a personal assistant alongside Manoj Bajpayee in Aarakshan in 2011 and in Chakravyuh in 2012 which explored the Naxalite conflict.

On television, Sharad Singh has gained visibility with his performance as Badri Pandey in the Imagine Television Drama, Armanon Ka Balidaanp Aarakshan in 2010 directed by Ravindra Gautam. He later appeared in realities and episodic shows during this period.

With the book of OTT platforms, Sharad Singh easily took his transition to web series making notable appearances in popular crime thrillers like Rangbaaz on Zee5.

Sharad Singh has been a reliable supporting actor and mostly worked recently in contemporary Hindi films. Between 2023 and 2026, he worked in Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The alternate history drama features Sharad Singh in crucial poignant comeo role as a refugee.

In Kaagaz 2 released in 2024, he appeared in Satish Kaushik’s story telling social drama. In 2025, he featured in the mainstream comedy drama in Single Salma featuring him in a supporting role. The latest is The Narmada Story released in June 2026 in which he plays the powerful central role as a tough police officer in the powerful and emotional crime drama which is set in the heartland of Madhya Pradesh and revolves around the journey of a courageous tribal woman.

He is known for his superhit in which Aamir Khan’s brother Faizal Khan had made a come back. Sharad is also known for the Bhojpuri Film Litti Choha released in 2021, Faactory released in the same year. His other known films are Gandhi vs Godse with Rajkumar Santoshi  and Fraud Saiyaan in 2019.
