Biography

Sunny’s career graph started in 2007 with his debut in the Star Plus popular television serial called Kasauti Zindagi Kay wherein he plays the role of love interest to the character essayed by Kratika Sengar.

In 2008, he played another television role of Karan in Shakuntala. 

2011 came with his big break with Madhur Bhandarkar’s comedy film, Dil to Baccha Hai ji where he appeared in a cameo role with the lead stars Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Omi Vaidya. The film however fared badly at the box office so his struggles to continue in the industry continued for a while.

In 2013, he starred in the film Akaash Vani, a romantic drama film with co-star Kartik Aaryan but the film led to commercial failure too.

In 2015, Sunny re-joined with Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy film Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 a film that is a sequel of the same title. The film surprisingly grossed at a world total of US$ 12 million and the film emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of the year. This led to his stardom success as well.   

In 2018, Luv Ranjan director once again cast him for the third time in the film Sonu Ke Titu ki Sweety starring with co-star Kartik Aaryan.

2019 saw him in a cameo role once again in Akiv Ali’s directorial debut film, De De Pyaar De, a romantic comedy film based on the story of a 50-year-old businessman who falls in love with a 26-year-old girl.  The film had the stalwarts as Ajay Devgn and Tabu, but his role in the film got noticed by the audience and the critics.  He also starred in Jhootha Kahin Ka alongside actor Jimmy Sheirgill.

Sunny’s latest and most recent is Jai Mummy Di, a romantic comedy film in which he will be starring opposite costar Sonnali Seygall, Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon. the film is scheduled to release in January 2020.
