While she was recording a song one day, Nyra was spotted by a noted film director G.V. Iyer. He signed her for a role in the Hindi television serial Kadambari. Nyra was to play Sita’s role in the Ramayana adaptation that G.V Iyer was going to be shooting but the director had died and the project was stalled.
She is best known for her lead roles in Divya Drishti on Star Plus . Nyra also participated in Fear Factor, Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 and Big Boss 18. Following her various television appearances , she made her debut in the mainstream cinema with the Telugu comedy film Okkadu which was moderately successful. The film was directed by Srinivasa Murthy Nidadavole. Nyra did several films in Telugu including Vamsi’s saradaga Kasepu in 2010.
She then worked in a Hindi film One Night Stand and had assisted director Tony D’Souza for his fil Azhar. Later she had a cameo role in the Telugu film Orange directed by Bhaskar. None of the Telugu films had helped her in career advancement. In 2012, she did her second Bollywood film Kamaal Dhamaal Malammal which was directed by Priyadharshan.
In 2014 Nyra had done her debut Telegu film role in ‘Veta’, followed by her debut role in a Kannada film Savaari 2 , her debut in Malayalam film Koothara Saavari 2. She essayed the role of Shaista an NRI. She then starred in the film Maruthi’s Kotha Janta starring alongside Allu Shirish . She made a special appearance in Green Signal which was co-produced by Maruthi.
In 2015 she was also seen in Puri Jagannadh’s film Temper. Nyra then appeared in two Tamil films Sernadhu Polama which is helmed by Malayalam director Anil Kumar. She also appeared in Sundar C’s Aambala . Her other films were Close Friends in Telugu and Black Coffee in Malayalam, and in the film Azhar by director Tony D’Souza. Nyra also acted in Puri Jagannadh’s film Temper which was successful. In 2019, Nyra essayed the titular character of Divya Sharma Shergill in Star Plus’s Divya Drishti . In 2022, She appeared in Colors Television in Pishacini.
