Gopinath is an Emotional-Romantic Musical-Thriller Family Drama Film crafted with excellence by Mahesh Kaul. The Story revolves around the life of Mohan (played by Raj Kapoor)- a talented story writer for films and works hard to gain his fortune and his ill mother wants him to marry Gopi (played by Tripti Mitra) a friend's daughter staying with them. Gopi has come from the village to Bombay with her brother- she fells in love with him for years- but he fells in love with Neela Devi (Latika), a famous film star. Things get complicated- when Gopi's one-sided devotion to Mohan drives her to madness and Neela has an evil plan against Mohan, leading to consequences.
