Haiwaan is one of the upcoming movies in the psychological thriller genre. The story of the new film derives from the 2016 Malayalam movie Oppam starring Mohanlal. In the Hindi version, Akshay Kumar will play the role of the bad guy and Saif Ali Khan will play the good guy.

The story follows the blind man being the suspect in a murder case. Then, while trying to clear himself of the murder charges, he finds out about an even bigger conspiracy surrounding the murder of a retired judge who, after learning of the conspiracy, was killed for talking to the judge's daughter.

The objective of the protagonist is to redeem the innocent, while proving his innocence is the driving action of the film. The title Haiwaan, which means 'beast' in Hindi, reveals the dark and intense themes throughout the film. Haiwaan has a remarkable story, strong performances and direction by Priyadarshan that are positioned to offer one of the important changes to upcoming Indian thriller films.
