Pratap is a college student and lives with his father, mother and brother Ramu. His father Badriprasad is very strict and critical of Pratap and asks him to do well in his studies and all aspects of life. He gets him married to a village girl named Alka. Pratap at first is against the idea but soon he begins to fall in love with her. However Pratap’s exams are soon due and thus his father warns him to concentrate on his studies and not on his wife and thus wouldn’t let them be close. The frustrated couple then hatch a plan to get away from Badriprasad and lie to him that they are visiting Alka’s parents. In stead they rent a room in Bombay to spend time together. However things turn hilariously disastrous. The film is directed by Basu Chatterjee and Kamal Saigal and produced by Shyam Sunder Sekasaria. The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan. The star cast includes Asrani, Utpal Dutt, Rakesh Roshan, Prema Narayan, Bindiya Goswami, Master Raju, Manik Dutt, Ranjeet, R S Chopra, Viju Khote, Manmouji, Kuthiravattam Pappu, Soni, Satya, Pratap, Jay Shree T and Meena T.
