Dev, played by Akshay Kumar and Ajay, played by Saif Ali Khan, are two petty criminals who are reckless and carefree. One day things go horribly wrong when they accidentally kill a man named Mohan. They find it hard to forget the incident and find out where he lives and go to his village. They meet his mom, dad, sister and wife, but the warmth and love they get from them makes it difficult to tell them the truth. So they lie to the family that Mohan is well and they are his friends. They then stay on in Mohan’s house and help the family.

 

Ajay and Dev come to know that the village Mohan’s family lives in, is terrorized by a man called Bhanu and his men. They try to stop their evil acts but this infuriates Bhanu. He then comes to know about Ajay’s addiction to drinking and gambling. Soon he makes him hooked on to it and Ajay loses all his money, he then steals gold bangles from Mohan’s family and sells them to get more money for gambling. When Dev hears this, he is angry and thus a rift is created between both the friends.

 

The movie is directed by Samir Malkan and produced by Ganesh Jain. The star cast includes Raveena Tandon, Sonali Bendre, Moushumi Chatterjee, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, Dalip Tahil, Johnny Lever, Avtar Gill, Kiran Zaveri, Ravi Kissen, Mukesh Khanna, Chhotu Dada and Sheetal Survarna. The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan and the lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar. The cinematography is by Thomas A Xavier and the choreography is by Chinni Prakash, Rekha Prakash and Farah Khan.
