After Avantika, played by Kareena Kapoor returns to India from the US to attend to her ill father, she happens to meet Ehsaan, played by Saif Ali Khan. The two fall in love and get married. He readily agrees to relocate to the US. They both live in an apartment in a quiet neighborhood where many other South Asian families live too. She helps him get a job and soon she finds out that she is pregnant. Avantika’s neighbor Salma comes to her for help stating that she is being confined in her hosue and ill-treated by her husband and in-laws. She asks her to contact TV reporter Rehana.

Avantika goes to meet Rehana and her boyfriend Riyaz and they discuss about Salma. Rehana plans a meeting with Salma but is unable to as she is traveling to Iraq. Avantika later overhears her neighbors that the plane carrying Rehana and many other diplomats will be bombed. They catch Avantika overhearing and runs home to find Ehsaan and soon realizes that he too is part of the terrorist gang. She concludes that Ehsaan used her to simply get citizenship and enter the US.

Later Rehana is killed in the bomb blast in her plane and Riyaz decides to join Ehsaan in his lectures on Islam. He soon befriends him and even enters his group. They use him to plan their next mission to bomb several subway stations in New York. However, the police foil their plan when Riyaz escapes and tells them all. Ehsaan is later shot dead by the FBI. The movie is directed by Rensil D’Silva and produced by Karan Johar and Hiroo Yash Johar. The music is composed by Salim-Sulaiman.
