Shiva, played by Meezaan, is a rustic, rugged, rowdy boy living in a chawl in Mumbai. His favorite past time is getting into squabbles with anyone and everyone who upsets his short temper. He mostly spends his time drinking, gambling and loafing around the streets with his equally directionless friends. He refuses to stay at home most times as he is at loggerheads with his parents and they keep nagging him for everything.
One day a new family comes to stay next to his chawl, and he meets Aastha Tripathi, played by Sharmin Segal. She is a meek and subdued girl studying CA and due to financial problems in her family they are forced to stay in this minimal condition. Shiva instantly gets attracted to her but doesn’t show it at first. They become friends and he comes to know that soon she will be engaged and married to her father’s wealthy friend’s son. Shiva starts to fall in love with Aastha. She completely disapproves of his rowdy nature and habits but something makes her fall for his innocence. Her family have already written him off as no good so their union is next to impossible. They will have to fight hard for their love.
The movie is directed by Mangesh Hadawale and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain and Krishan Kumar. The music is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shreyas Puranik, Shail Hada and Sanchit Balhara.
