Meanwhile Matru, played by Imran Khan is advocating the villager’s rights and fighting to keep their land safe from being sold. He is a law graduate from JNU and working as Harry’s driver. Bijli later feels that she is incompatible with Baadal, seeing his conniving side as a politician along with his mother. She then decides to work for the village and help Matru instead. Later there is a rainstorm and the villagers lose their crop harvest and the resulting money they would use to pay the government. Thus they have no choice but to let go off their land to the government to pay their debts. Chaudhari Devi decides to convert the newly acquired land into SEZ only if Baadal and Bijli get married.
