A drunk man buys a lottery ticket and decides to try out his luck. But unfortunately he has to give away the ticket and thus sells it off to a restaurant waiter Namdev, played by Pran. Namdev thus decides to pay for the ticket with the help of his friends Jaggi, played by Jagdish Raj, Raghu, played by Kader Khan and Damu, played by Amjad Khan. To decide who will get to keep the ticket, the four friends draw cards and eventually Jaggi wins and he keeps the ticket. Luckily for them, the ticket is the winning one.
Greed takes over between the friends and Raghu and Damu kill Jaggi and they falsely accuse Namdev of the murder. Little do the friends know that Jaggi is still alive and is rescued by a don, played by Amrish Puri. Twenty years on Damu and Raghu are enjoying the fruits of their stealing. While Damu has sent a large amount of the lottery money for his son, Vicky to study in England, the two have built a fabulous hotel. They have employed Namdev’s son Johnny, played by Amitabh Bachchan in their hotel. Vicky and Johnny are close friends and end up falling in love with the same girl Asha, played by Hema Malini.
Asha has a sister Kim and their father is Jaggi. Namdev meanwhile comes back to take his revenge against Raghu and Damu who got him separated from his family. The movie is directed and produced by Manmohan Desai. The music is composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
