Oothikachiya Ponnu

Meanwhile, Thoman Kutty, a businessman who deals with selling crafts on a large scale, wants Sukumari to join him. He offers quick money but wants her to change her art to suit mass markets. Sukumari faces a tough choice: follow Vishwanathan’s honest plan to grow slowly, stay with Nandan in the village, or accept Thoman Kutty’s offer for fast money but lose the true meaning of her art. She decides to start a small cooperative in her village, teaching others to make crafts and sell them fairly. With help from Vishwanathan and Nandan, Sukumari’s cooperative grows, bringing hope and pride to her village. She finds success while staying true to her roots and love.

Oothikachiya Ponnu captures sincere performances that connect the audience with the emotional themes of the characters, although subtly. The film, highlighting tradition vs change, instils thoughts for audiences, leaving the theatre feeling inspired to aspire to their traditional pursuits. The music and visuals complemented the emotional heart of the story beautifully.
