Raid is a crime action film of 2018 directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and story written by Ritesh Shah, featuring Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in the lead roles.
The film is inspired from the real income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department under the able and courageous Indian Revenue Service Officer. The story goes on to focus on the transferred IRS Officer Arnay Patnaik ( Ajay Devgn) to Lucknow and is happily living with his wife Malini ( Ileana D’Cruz). But one day he receives a tip off on a phone call stating about some black money hoarded by Rameshwar Singh ( Saurabh Shukla) who is also the Don of Sitagarh and a Member of Parliament and has evaded paying income tax. A raid is conducted by Arnay’s team and there is involvement of Politicians. A political real life story on the threats leading to the film continues with the gripping storyline, towards the end but with the fearless Income Tax Officer who carries out the raid at the mansion of the one of the most powerful man in Lucknow. Much to the suspense built in the film about the informer, it is none other than Rameshwar’s youngest daughter-in-law and her lover who take revenge on him for separating him from her lover and forcing her to marry his imthe potent son. Rameshwar in the jail is left wandering on the informer’s identity while Arnay and his wife move on to the next posting transferred to a place with a hope of a settled life and brighter future.
