Selva

"Selva" is a 1996 Kollywood romantic action film directed by A. Venkatesh. It includes Vijay, Swathi, Raghuvaran and Riva. The film centres on Selva, who quickly becomes attached to the figure Kamini, daughter of a newly influential minister who has moved into Selva’s colony. This reality surprises Varatharajan every time Selva fearlessly speaks up or stands up against oppression, because Selva is not an ordinary man, and his loathing of corruption propels him to combat it fiercely. When Kamini, daughter of a newly appointed minister, moves into the colony and becomes very friendly with Selva, Kamini’s proximity ignites feelings of jealousy and misunderstanding in Sumathi, who loves Selva in secret.

However, Varatharajan hides a sinister secret. He is an agent of a violent terrorist network and is responsible for kidnapping Kamini to put pressure on political powers. As the threat turns deadly, Selva must stake it all to save Kamini, facing not just murderous foes but the betrayal of his father. In an anguishing and fevered denouement, Selva has no choice but to kill Varatharajan to save Kamini from execution. Now finally freed from the terrorists’ clutches, both Selva and Kamini flee, but the wounds of both betrayal and loss herald the start of a new, uncertain chapter in their lives.
