Tholireyi Gadichindi

Tholireyi Gadichindi (1977) is a romantic thriller directed by K.S.Rami Reddy. It stars Murali Mohan, Rajinikanth, Jayachitra and Mohan Babu. A kind-hearted youth named Ramesh loves Vasanth, but forces of betrayal, jealousy, and death plot against him. Ramesh, still feeling and fearing for love in his heart, must contend with Nagini and her father Govindayya: the wrath of jealousy has made them jealous, plotting death against Ramesh, and impersonal forces lurking about.

Ramesh is a kind-hearted and educated villager living with his grandfather. He falls in love with Vasanth, a delightful, honest girl. Their flame is not extinguished by family matters. Ramesh goes home, but Vasanth stays in the city, heartbroken, doubtful that she will see Ramesh again. After Ramesh returns to the village, his family wants him to marry Nagini, who is the daughter of their manager, Govindayya. Nagini has feelings for Ramesh and is exuberant about the prospect of him marrying their daughter, but Ramesh is still in love with Vasanth.


In a shocking twist, Vasanth comes back as Ramesh’s chosen bride, which brings on jealousy and rage in Nagini, along with her dad. In betrayal and misunderstanding, and becoming cold to Ramesh in the process, Vasanth is feeling it all. It is around this same time that Govindayya and his friend Chitti Babu are conspiring to kill Ramesh so that they can steal his money as well. They hire a person to poison Ramesh, but that all changes when the person learns Vasanth is his sister. The truth comes out and these villains are apprehended. Vasanth learns the whole story and realises Ramesh's love was always true.

Tholireyi Gadichindi presents an exciting combination of romance and suspense with an emotionally charged storyline that is full of drama. The pacing is steady and deliberate, with tension building in such a way that keeps viewers engaged. The emotional highs are contrasted against the dramatic twists, which lead to a satisfying ending.
