"Thunivu" is a 2023 Tamil action heist film directed and written by H. Vinoth. The movie is produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Project LLP and Zee Studios and features Ajith Kumar, Manju Warrier, and Samuthirakani in the lead roles. The film revolves around a bank heist that reveals a larger financial scandal.

"Radha," a politician-turned-gangster, joins forces with ACP Ramachandra to burglarize "Your Bank" in Chennai on the night of a high-profile Governor's function, looting 500 crores. But on arrival, Radha and gang find the bank already captured by a suave stranger named "Michael Jackson" (Ajith Kumar) and his accomplice, "Kanmani" (Manju Warrier). Jackson tricks Radha's gang and comes up with an alternative idea, stealing 5000 crores.

The scheme unravels as they discover they have only 1510 crores in the bank's safe. Their tensions peak as Radha attempts to kill Jackson but is unsuccessful. Jackson insists that the police bring constable Antony to talk. Ramachandra, meanwhile, uses a voice-altering device to deceive them all. There is an explosion during the police raid and pandemonium, and Commissioner Dayalan suspects a third group is involved.

As secrets are exposed, Ramachandra confesses that he had organized the robbery with his friend Shayam. Radha's gang also allies with Jackson. The truth is revealed: "Krish," (John Kokken) the bank chairman, had employed another gang for his own purposes. With betrayals and past misdeeds, Jackson, who is Dark Devil in reality, finds out about a huge scam worth 25,000 crores. At the eleventh hour, Dark Devil and Kanmani trick all of them and escape by ship, simulating their deaths.

"Thunivu" delivers high-speed action and crowd-pleasing sequences but often strains belief in its second half. While the narrative advances real financial scams and manipulation of the media into the limelight, it sacrifices realism to appear fashionable. Ajith's presence and daring stunts keep the film energized, and the film's a glitzy yet engrossing heist thriller.
