Emraan Hashmi Brings Grit and Realism to the Role of a BSF Hero
The story is about the BSF officer who led the operation to track the mastermind behind the terrorist attack on the Parliament and Akshardham Temple in 2001. Emraan Hashmi said the idea was to tell an honest story to the audience without going overboard with the ground reality of the real-life hero.
The actor who is known for films such as Awarapan, Murder, Jannat, Once upon a Time in Mumbai, The Dirty Picture, Shanghai, and Tiger 3, to name a few expressed his desire to portray the film with reality as much as possible with truth and the right element included in the script. He said that as filmy dramas tend to overdo certain things and exaggerate for entertainment purposes.
Emraan Hashmi Stresses Authenticity
Citing an example, Hashmi said the film should resonate with the audience, and we can’t expect Mr Dubey to climb up on a truck and yell at his juniors, shouting out ‘Prahar Hoga’. The film has to be done without making it look fake. Ground Zero represents Border Security forces, hence, the details are for posterity, and the families of the BSF should be respected, who are also going to watch the film. One has showcased sensitivity.
Hashmi also spoke of his experience during the filming in Kashmir, saying he was captivated by the beauty. He mentioned they did not face any issues during the shooting of the film. Some of the scenes were shot in crowded markets. People of that region were civil and cooperative.
