The teaser of Ishaan Khatter starrer 'Pippa' comes with the promise of a hard-hitting war drama. However, there is no news regarding the theatrical release date of the film as it was initially postponed from December 2, 2022

Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, the film is based on the Battle of Garibpur during the Indo-Pak War of 1971 and stars Ishaan and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. Recent buzz suggests that 'Pippa' may opt for a direct digital release in the coming days due to a legal battle in which the makers of the film are embroiled. Competitive collusion leading to undue levy of Virtual Print Fee (VPF). He reportedly filed a petition with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) against multiplexes, which demand Rs 20,000 from producers and distributors for each film screened at each property as VPF. Due to this drag, the makers are aiming to sell 'Pippa' on an OTT platform.

The film is based on the book 'The Burning Chaffees' by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta and has music by AR Rahman. Ishaan will replace Brigadier Mehta, a veteran of the 45 Cavalry Tank Squadron, who fought on the Eastern Front during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. 'Pippa' also stars Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan.
