Starring veteran actor Anil Kapoor, Subedaar is directed by Suresh Triveni. The action drama features the high energy song sung by Vishal Dadlani which is a part of the emotional moment in the storyline.

Rohan Utpat revealed that the collaboration with Triveni goes back for more than a decade. He had a clear vision for the sound when the film was discussed with him.  He said the sound had to be felt raw, intense and very different from their earlier melodic work together.

Instead of the traditional orchestral scoring the composers have built the background using a textured soundscape with industrial tones, atmosphere that has synth layers in an unconventional element with the mechanical sounds in workshop like texture which will reflect the psychological tension in Anil Kapoor’s character in the film.

Subedaar theme is interesting.

Subedaar theme interestingly is composed months before the teaser released in 2024. It later became the foundation of the entire background score. The duo Rohan-Vinayak have focused heavily on the sound design, crafting moments where the music breathes with the visuals.

The standout track, ‘Lalla’ was designed as an extension to the protagonist’s emotional turmoil which is not a typical song. It has the gritty rock energy with the powerful instrumentation and orchestral strings that the track captures the supressed anger showing in his character.

Vinayak Salvi credited Triveni for encouraging the duo composers to experiment and allowing them to push beyond their boundaries for the track which has reached another level after Vishal Dadlani lent his voice. It has helped to gain the traction across all social platforms.

Rohan Vinayak Pair have previously composed music tracks for projects like Nil Battey Sannata, Sarkar 3, Lootcase, Tarla and 102 Not Out and also for a sports documentary series called the Break Point.
