Producer Mukesh Bhatt finally has come forth and denied the speculation on the delay of  the film Awarapan 2 that the makers are avoiding it due to the box office clashes with big releases like Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic : A Fairytale for Grown-ups.   Setting the record straight, Bhatt expressed that the postponed is purely due to the production’s reasons and not for the fear of competition with the big wigs.  He further categorically stated , ‘ I am not scared of Dhurandhar 2 or Toxic:A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’.

Awarapan 2 was earlier expected to arrive around March – April and is now pushed to May June window after Emraan Hashmi suffered an accident on the sets and requires to undergo a surgery. Explaining the situation,  Mukesh Bhatt revealed that Emraan Hashmi has been advised to rest and stay away from work hence the movie had to be postponed for its release on the scheduled date. 

He further stated that he did not want to rush and compromise on the film and that 20 days of shooting is still pending which should be completed once Hashmi is back on his feet.  The final shooting is planned for March in Malaysia once Emraan Hashmi receives a medical clearance to resume work. 


Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and is written by Bilal Siddiqui and is the sequel of the 2007 cult.  The romantic action film is helmed by Mohit Suri while Emraan Hashmi will reprise his collaboration with the franchise . The other two actors in the film are Shabana Azmi and Disha Patani .
