The upcoming action comedy by Rohit Shetty, Golmaal 5, starring Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn is slowly picking up its momentum. Recently there has been a buzz that the movie was inspired by Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor starrer, Do Aur Do Paanch.   Rohit Shetty’s team cleared the claim that such a report was incorrect and that Golmaal 5 is not inspired by the  1980 action-comedy film Do Aur Do Paanch.

On the other hand, Rohit Shetty’s upcoming Golmaal 5 updates have kept the audience intrigued.  He further requested the media houses and publications, portals and digital platforms to refrain from publishing or circulating information that is not verified by the concerned sources.

He also mentioned in his statement, he would take strict legal action against any of the published unverified and false news about the filmmaker or his upcoming film Golmaal 5. He has also requested to remove or take down the false news from circulation.

Golmaal 5 Franchise is with Ranveer Singh

Golmaal 5 franchise, directed by Rohit Shetty, Circus serving as the series spin-off, is now one of the highest grossing film series in Bollywood.  The upcoming comedy film by Rohit Shetty has a star cast Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar on board.

Akshay Kumar will play the main antagonist opposite Ajay Devgn and his gang.  Apart from the two pivotal stars, the star cast also includes Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari and Ashwini Kalsekar.

The shoot is expected to begin by the end of February 2026 with the filmmakers aiming the date in 2027 for its theatrical release.
