Film debut and rise to prominence ( 2007- 2008) Jiah Khan made her Bollywood entry with ac director Ram Gopal Varma’s drama flick Nishabd, where she shared screen with Stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Revathi. The flick which dealt with the theme of infidelity saw Khan playing a girl who ends up attracting her friend’s father in the course of her vacation. Khan came immediately under the limelight with a highly matured and awe inspiring performance which led her to her very first Award in the form of a nomination for Best Female Debut at Filmfare Awards in the year 2007 and Khan was successful in winning tremendous critical reviews for her subtle conception of the psychological nuances underplaying the seductiveness and grittiness of the would becontroversial character although the movie emerged a major let-down at the box office owing to the sensitive topic under discussion. Jiah Khan next appeared in Ghajini, for which ace director A.R Murugadoss wielded the megaphone with Aamir Khan playing the lead along with Asin. The psychological thriller saw Jiah Khan playing a nosy medical student who sets out on the path to study Aamir Khan’s character who suffers from an abnormal medical condition of “Anterograde Amnesia” which leads him to forget things after each fifteen minutes and the rest of the movie deals with her investigation into the life of Aamir Khan which bring forth shocking revelation of his past life. The movie kept up her repute as she was seen breathing life into the side-lined sketchy character making it appear exquisite in her screen time with Aamir Khan and the movie was one of the biggest grossers of Bollywood and received good reviews. Final film ( 2010) After a two year gap post Ghajini, in the initial months of the year 2010 Khan was selected to co-star with Shahid Kapoor in the dance drama film Chance Pe Dance, but halfway through the on-going shoot the director called her off from the female lead part after alleged inclination towards the co-star Shahid Kapoor but post release she was seen blaming the director for her unexpected exit from the project citing it to be misbehaviour from his side which led to the decision. She then went on to do her final film in the mid 2010 with Sajid Khan’s ensemble comedy Housefull which boast of a star cast consisting of Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Riteish Deshmukh, Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutta in the lead. The comedy of errors flick had her playing Akshay Kumar’s wife who leaves him to elope with her boyfriend which led to the main plot points of the narrative. Jiah Khan was seen coming up with a decent and well-seasoned portrayal of the character which required nothing spectacular from her part but the movie failed to fetch positive reviews however became a hug hit which insipid two sequels in the future. But she signed no more films after completing Housefull in 2010 she was inactive in Bollywood for three years and one fine morning found to have committed suicide in the year 2013 under mysterious circumstances.
