Assi is an upcoming investigative thriller which Anubhav Sinha will direct as his new film project. The movie stars Taapsee Pannu, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Kani Kusruti. This marks the third collaboration between Taapsee and the director. The film will be released in theatres on February 20. The narrative addresses a disturbing fact which states that eighty sexual assaults occur each day.
The story tackles a concerning statistic: eighty sexual assaults are reported daily. This serious investigation shows an intense courtroom drama. A strong-willed lawyer fights for a terrible rape case. Disturbing facts come to light under the daily crime reports. The story focuses on how crime affects people which is often missed in the news. You'll see a defence team fighting a system based on male dominance. It's an honest look at the lawlessness in our society now. The movie makes us face truths we usually avoid.
Taapsee Pannu gives a strong show as Raavi, a brave and determined lawyer. Kani Kusruti acts as Parima, a brave woman whose story is the reason for the case. Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub plays Vinay, her caring husband who supports her. Advik Jaiswal is their young son, who is confused by the harsh world. Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak act as the parents of the person accused in court. Revathy plays a fair judge. This good cast makes every feeling seem authentic and important.
