Suraj, played by Ajay devgn is a chemistry professor at a college. Pooja, played by Amisha Patel is one of his students who is spoilt and notorious for playing pranks on people. She keeps annoying Suraj with various pranks every now and then. Suraj loves Supriya, played by Mahima Chaudhary, who is paralyzed and undergoing treatment. Pooja plays a cruel joke one day on Suraj pretending to have brain tumor. This affects Suraj and angers him. Pooja meanwhile falls in love with him and confesses her love.
However Suraj introduces Supriya as the love of his life to everyone and Pooja takes this as an insult. She tells Supriya that Suraj loves her only as sympathy for her condition. This traumatizes Supriya and she suffers a mental shock and she breaks off her engagement to Suraj. She insists that he marry Pooja. Pooja after marrying Suraj, realizes that she has wronged Supriya and goes into depression. Meanwhile she gives birth to a daughter. Not able to take the pain of guilt Pooja commits suicide and Supriya takes care of the baby and marries Suraj.
The movie is directed by Kamal and produced by Nitin Raj Aryadath. The music is composed by Jatin-Lalit and Nikhil-Vinay.
