The sequel to the very popular 2012 hit film Cocktail released on June 19th which was received with mixed reviews by the audience. The film featuring Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon wrapped up the opening week on a decent note.   The film crossed the 70-crore milestone in the domestic market box office while it also got good response from audience and critics alike.  

Cocktail 2 got off to a strong start on its opening day. 


According to the trade website the film is doing fairly well and holds steady from its first Thursday earnings.  It did have a drop in its collection but steadily is picking up reflecting the gathering its momentum over the weekends.    Like most of the films that have a dip down on week days starting Monday,  the film that had earned 17.75 crore on Sunday had a noticeable drop with 6.74 crore on Monday .


Cocktail 2 continues its theatrical run across 4652 shows and is expected to surpass the lifetime collections of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s previous film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya which had taken the break at 85.16 crore.

Cocktail 2 is backed by producers Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg under the respective banners Maddock Films and Luv Films.  The romantic drama features the lead trip with Shahid Kapoor as the lead actor alongside Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.  The 2012 original Cocktail was led by Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.
