Sumit Arora traces his journey in the film industry and talks about the showbiz

Sumit over the years has written for films, television and web series . He finds the diversity in all the mediums .He is sure of something that is going to be watched in theatre, needs a lot of projection.  It is a kind of communication with the audience says he.

Television gave him success at the start of his career and the money that he received helped him develop his skills .  He had come to Mumbai as an 18-year-old with very little knowledge in English and no knowledge in the craft of writing. He initially did not get any work in films but he had to survive and with just Rs. 4000 in hand, he joined Balaji Telefilms as a trainee writer and was provided a place to live with a decent stipend with which he could manage.  The experience that he gained taught him a lot and more success and money thereafter.

Money brings its own fair share of problem.

‘Itna paisa kahan se aa rahe hain’,was what he was asked by his family when he started earning a lot of money at a young age. There were hilarious comments he had to hear from his people back home who could not understand the idea of a 20-year-old earning in lakhs per month.  He was earning 10 to 15 times more than his father’s salary due to which he was asked whether he had joined some underworld gang in Mumbai !!

It seems like a joke now but it used to be a serious conversation at home out of concern for the family.
