As Dhurandhar 2 gallops to 1500 crore mark up worldwide at the box office, the impact that the film has been with the insiders in the film industry as well as the audience and fans across has been terrific.  

The two Parts of Dhurandhar directed by Aditya Dhar has even outgrossed Baahubali earning with Rs. 2400 crore together , filmmaker Priyadarshan can’t help but profusely praise the film and its director comparing it with the iconic blockbuster Sholay.

Priyadarshan is all praises for Aditya Dhar who assisted him in two of his films Aakrosh and Tezz. He said he never taught him anything but he learnt a lot while working with him and the fact is Aditya has motivated him through his work said Priyadarshan. The Bhooth Bangla veteran filmmaker is soon returning with the comedy horror film. 

Both Aditya Dhar and Priyadarshan go back with them almost two decades ago. Before he made his directorial debut with Uri: The Surgical Strike, Aditya had not only assisted Priyadarshan but he had also served as a dialogue writer for two of his films.    

Priyadarshan says he is completely blown away by Dhurandhar and that this film part 1 and part 2 especially has completely broken the record of Bollywood and the way the film has been shot it has broken everything to become one of the most successful films of Bollywood.

Dhurandhar will be remembered like Sholay.

Starring Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy in Pakistan released in December the monumental success minted over Rs. 1300 crore worldwide and included the Rs. 840 crore in India alone. The new record for Bollywood with its sequel breaking all previous records, at the box  office is on the way to Rs. 1350 crore in just 11 days of its release.  

The film is off course over and on top of Dangal which was the highest grossing film ever made. Addressing the legacy of the film, Aditya Dhar has played a revolutionary role to create this historic film. Now the young director has nothing to worry he can sleep says Priyadarshan as Dhurandhar is going to be remembered like Sholay and its makers.

Priyadarshan is known for his path breaking Malayalam films will return to Hindi cinema. 

He has had a prolific career in Hindi cinema from 2000 to 2013 following a break from Bollywood he returned to direct Malayalam films. Priyadarshan had then returned to Hindi cinema with Hungama 2 released in 2021. Starting this year 2026,  the veteran filmmaker is all  set to make a full fledged come back to Bollywood with three of his major films all starring Akshay Kumar. The first one to go on floors and release is his horror comedy Bhooth Bangla which is all set for its release in April 2026.
