Amid the excitement of Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5 being ready to go on floors, Deepak Mukut has firmly clarified that the project Do Aur Do Paanch belongs to him and not to Rohit Shetty that it has been believed to be. He has even issued a public notice to prevent anyone else from attempting to make a remake of the film.
He stated that he is extremely serious about this film and revealed that for nearly a decade he had envisaged the remake of the Bobby Deol and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles for the remake. He is surprised that he doesn’t know how the news has spread that someone else is doing the sequel of Do Aur Do Paanch.
The original Do Aur Do Paanch had Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor in the lead as two small time crooks while Hema Malini added the charm to the comic tension making the film one of the most memorable entertainers of the time despite its unexpected box office set back in 1980 it still did its best.
During the time of its release in 1980, interestingly the underperformance was largely attributed to have clash with the blockbuster Suhaag released around the same time. Directed by Manmohan Desai which also featured the Bachchan and Kapoor and they had struck gold already as the lead pair.
The Do Aur Do Paanch continues to remain unwavering for Deepak Mukut.
Meanwhile the film industry is hinting at a fresh comedy collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar a pairing that is yet to headline for a full-fledged comedy together. Their earlier action film included the Suhaag in 1994, directed by Kuku Kohli.
