Seema Pahwa the Bollywood actress who is best known for her films such as Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has expressed her frustrations of not being cast in the lead roles, is planning to quit the film industry.

Seema Pahwa expressed, creative people are sidelined in the industry and expressed her disappointment of not being cast in the lead roles despite her talented acting prowess. Seema Pahwa reflected on how people often praised her acting, said she may have been good so she gets praises, but not good enough for directors to offer her the film in a lead role.


She went on to say perhaps its time to say good bye to the film industry as it has its limitations. Creative people have not only been sidelined but businessmen have taken it over and want to run the film industry with a business mindset of their own. ‘After working in the film industry for so many years it’s not possible to work like this’ stated the actress.

Pahwa further mentioned how actors like her are left out of the films due to their old thought process. She mentioned she does understand they want to earn money and by hiring actors like her they won’t earn much as they come from an old-fashioned background. It is also a belief a film works not because of an actor, or the story but it is the commercial elements that make a film run.


Seema is all set to play the role of RajKummar Rao’s mother in the film Bhool Chuk Maaf. The film stars Raghubir Yadav, Sanjay Mishra and others. The film directed by Karan Sharma is scheduled to release on May 9th 2025
