st in her debut Minissha was doing majors. Thus the 2005 war drama film Yahaan saw Minissha’s official entry to Bollywood where she starred opposite Jimmy Sheirgill. Yahaan was a major box office let down mainly due to other huge releases of the time but the movie went on to gain good reviews for its positive storyline and Minissha received praise for her poignant depiction of the girl who gets mixed up between her love for an army man and a Jihadi brother in the politically volatile Kashmir. Minissha also went on to receive her very first award for her performance, in the Filmfare for the Best Female Debut category. She was next seen in a supporting role in the 2006 movie Corporate which was a commercial and critical hit. Rocky: The Rebel and Anthony Kaun Hai were Minissha’s next releases in the year 2006 which panned out to be mediocre outings which saw her in trivial support characters. Her next major release was Reema Kagti’s comic road movie Honeymoon Travels Pvt.Ltd where she was seen along with an ensemble cast, which told the tale of a group of married couples travelling in the Honeymoon Travels Pvt.Ltd bus , who goes through different trials and tribulations in their journey and personal life. The 2007 commercial and critical washout, anthology thriller Dus Kahaniyaan completed the list of Minissha’s bunch of unsuccessful outings in her early film career. First official success in Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) Minissha’s career experienced an interesting turn of events in the year when she was signed up for Yash Raj film’s bankrolled romcom Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite Ranbir Kapoor, where she was seen sharing screen with Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu. The Siddarth Anand directorial ensured her successful detour into the winning ways and also went on to be a benchmark in her so far uneventful career. Minissha came up next with Sanjay Gadhvi’s crime thriller alongside Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan although the movie did her no good whatsoever at that point. Her next two releases were Shaurya and Anamika, both of which just added to her misery as it went on to be major under performers among the audience and critics alike. Her acting skills were put under severe criticism by major Bollywood critics during this time. Career best role in Well Done Abba ( 2010) After a two year sabbatical from cinema, Minissha came back strongly when she was cast as the female lead by none other than legendary Shyam Benegal opposite Boman Irani for the political satire Well Done Abba, she was well noted along with the movie and received positive word of mouth and critical reviews for her performance after her Debut Yahaan after a long time in the National Award winning movie. Series of unrecognized films ( 2011 -2016) In the year 2011 she was seen in the sequel to the successful comedy Bheja Fry. Though the movie became a silent hit, it failed to mark any major acclaim as its predecessor. Minissha made her entry into Kannada cinema meanwhile in the action movie Kontract opposite Arjun Sarja and J.D Chakravarthy. She went on to be a part of some disappointing movies like Akshay Kumar’s Joker, Zilla Ghaziabad in the year 2013. Minissha side steeped to the Punjabi cinema Heer and Hero in 2013 followed up the character of an intelligence agent in Black Currency the same year. She came back with her next film in Punjabi Double Di Trouble which was a high grosser in the initial days.
